Justin's Engine Shed

Two short videos of my railway. The line is built on wooden decking supported on lengths of 4" (100mm) fence posts. The surface is covered with roofing felt, and the track screwed down with brass screws through the sleepers, and into the decking. This method was chosen to building a garden railway quickly and cheaply. Bits of it need replacing after 5 to 10 years, largely where the roofing felt has split.

The locos are Konrad (a geared single-cylinder loco from Regner) and Billy (a Roundhouse loco). Both run on butane. Billy is radio-controlled, whereas Konrad uses digital" control (my finger). The rolling stock is mostly built from scratch or from kits.

Konrad running past the signal box with a mixed freight. Actually most of the freight cars are empty because I haven't got around to making any loads for them.

My brother's loco "Billy" with a passenger train, making the most of a nice long length of straight. We found out that the passenger coaches are slightly different colours.
